Best Car insurance rates for teenager

This is Stephen from New Jersy :I’m going to be 16, getting a car, it’s a 03 Mitsubishi eclipse. If I got an older Mitsubishi eclipse would it be more expensive to insure? How can I get the best car insurance rates for a young driver auto insurance?

Your insurance premium would be based on the type of coverage that you are looking for. If you are looking for a comprehensive coverage or collison  coverage, which are coverages that covers damage to your own car/auto/vehicle and also accident benefits or third party coverage (accident benefits and TP coverage) the premium would be high. If you go only for the Liability portion – Accident benefits and third party coverage as required for your state, than the premium would be lower. However, no damages to your auto would be covered. For getting the best car insurance rates it is important to know what you really want to cover and to what limits. The meaning of best car insurance rates would be that you get the maximum coverage at the minimum rate, and this is possible with shoping online.

If the car is a new model than the value of the car is higher and hence the premium will be higher. Mitsubishis are popular with car theives and so this would also be considered by insurers.
