Tanya, your involvement will save the teenager’s life and also save your own money. The teenager’s auto insurance quote will depend on his driving history.
As a parent it is most important role for the parent to guide your teenager especially in driving a care. The biggest mistake that most parents make is that they are very critical with the child or too liberal. You need to help and guide him with his driving at the same time setting down certain norms firmly once you explain the importance of each of the regulations:
- Know the norms applicable in the state you live for the teenagers and you should encourage the young driver to follow them
- Restrict them for night driving.
- Restrict passengers driving with the student since they get easily distracted by the passengers and can be easily coaxed into speeding or breaking the norms with their peers.
- Prohibit them to drive when they are drunk.
- Ensure that the seat belt is put on at all times.
Most importantly you are the role model for your college going youth and so you need to ensure that you are practicing all the applicable traffic rules.
